A few fun tidbits about this piece:
I was contacted by an art studio in Sacramento to teach a collage class in 1.5 hours. It usually takes around 20 hours for me to complete a simple collage. So when I decided to accept the offer to teach in a short amount of time, I made a few sample collages. This piece had several hours of paper design time, and 2 hours of cutting. I love how custom paper makes the piece more meaningful and personal to the design as a whole. I designed all of the paper in the sky and trees with synonyms for those words. I love how the dictionary definitions include the pronunciation spellings as well. Maps are one of my favorite papers to use, they’re so complex, the second mountain is created from a scrapbook designed map page.
