The original Indian Shooting the Star is 16x20" and took 19 hours to complete and was made entirely out of Tootsie Roll Pop wrappers.

When I was a kid we were told that if you find the Indian on the Tootsie Roll Pop wrappers, you could turn them in and get a free Tootsie Roll Pop. For such a long time I’ve wanted to make a collage from these suckers with the mysterious Indian on the main stage. The answer is yes, my family ate all of those suckers and my kids really enjoyed it. The coolest thing was that we were able to get several uncommon flavors and I’ve even read that some of these are discontinued now, like lemon. This was a really fun piece to make and so fun to prepare for. Thank you for taking this nostalgic candy journey with me.
